I'm Kurt Ehlert — retired orthopedic surgeon, full-time maker, and the person behind The Articulated Workshop.

The surgical career is over. The precision habit isn't.

I run a OneFinity CNC and a Bambu Lab 3D printer, and I spend most of my time at the intersection of craft and engineering — figuring out how to make better things more efficiently, and sharing what I learn with other makers who'd rather be cutting than calculating.

The Articulated Workshop exists for makers who are skilled with their hands but short on time for the digital side of the work. The calculators, files, and content here are built to solve real shop problems — not to impress anyone with how complicated they are.

If Da Vinci had a CNC, he'd want better tools. That's the idea.
